Our food club has increased to around 130 members. In addition to running the food shop where members can shop with dignity, we serve free basic refreshments every week and periodically offer a more substantial cooked meal.
We have continued the Lighthouse Support Helpline to connect those struggling with anxiety, loneliness and isolation. The Lighthouse Support Helpline is run by volunteers and is available for anyone to call in for a chat.
We launched our community meals in September 2023, £1 for a full cooked meal. It has been great to see the church cafe filled with members from the community coming for a wholesome, healthy, hot meal.
In August 2023 we partnered with Jubilee Holidays for their very first holiday at the Jonas Centre in North Yorkshire where they took ten families away (these families were connected through our community hubs, food clubs and were referred to us).
Street teams reach out to vulnerable adults who are homeless and women sex workers in Manchester. We cover three geographical areas: Piccadilly Gardens, Cheetham Hill and Fairfield Street (near the train station).
